WHY DOESN'T THIS EVER HAPPEN TO ME? WHEN WILL MY TURN FINALLY COME?

I'M DOING THIS JOB BECAUSE IT PAYS BILLS. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE MORE TIME TO STUDY HUMAN DESIGN, TRAVEL, LEARN LANGUAGES OF THE WORLD, AND MUSIC. BUT I ALSO LIKE TO WATCH SERIES, GO OUT WITH MY FRIENDS, AND KEEP UP WITH MY ONLINE CIRCLE.

I DON'T WANT TO BURDEN ANYONE REALLY WITH MY PROBLEMS, AND I DON'T WANT ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO LIVE AND WHAT TO DO. I AM ASHAMED TO SHARE MY STRUGGLES AND WEAKNESSES, AND AM AFRAID I WOULD BE JUDGED FOR WHO I REALLY AM.

I REALLY DON'T LIKE MYSELF THE NEXT DAY AFTER A NIGHT OUT DRINKING AND PARTYING. I HAVE TO CUT IT OUT SOON. I CANNOT PARTY AS HARD AS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, BUT IT'S HARD TO SAY NO TO MY FRIENDS.

WHEN I RETIRE, I WILL ONLY DO WHAT I WANT. NO MORE EARLY MORNINGS AND CUT-SHORT EVENINGS. I WILL LIVE IN NATURE AND ENJOY THE OUTDOORS. I WILL HAVE ENOUGH SAVED TO LAST ME A LONG TIME AND LIVE WHERE I WANT.

Stepping Beyond the Comfort Zone

Your growth is outside your comfort zone. If you’re not ready for a big leap, start with a small step. Each step forward builds momentum and opens the door to greater opportunities.

Moving out of your comfort zone doesn’t happen all at once. With each move, take time to evaluate where you are and where you want to go next. This is how you create progress and stay aligned with your goals.

Intentionally placing yourself in moments of discomfort increases your resilience and expands your comfort range. Over time, you’ll not only grow, but also learn to appreciate the safety and stability you return to.

Discomfort takes many forms: it may be self-induced to test limits, caused by others, or be a natural consequence of life. The strategies to handle it vary, but reframing discomfort as a positive signal transforms it into an ally. Even reinventing ourselves in response to discomfort can feel less like a burden and more like an opportunity.

Research shows that unfamiliar situations create new neural pathways, fueling creativity, memory, and performance. Novelty also activates dopamine release — nature’s own “feel good” chemical — which is only triggered when we experience something truly new.
